How to keep your hair healthy

Healthy hair reflects yourself, your personality and also your health. Your hair basically goes through the process of growth, transition and rest, before it sheds and is replaced by new strands. This makes hair care very important. Here are some tips that can help you in maintaining healthy hair.

  1. Shampooing removes all the dirt, dead skin cells and oil from your hair. You can choose shampoo based on the type of your hair scalp. If you are not sure about your scalp type then it is always better to use some mild shampoo. There is no rule as to how many times one should shampoo hair in a week. You can shampoo your hair as many times you feel it is dirty. Shampooing at least twice a week will help you have healthy hair.
  2.
  1. You must always use conditioner after shampooing. Conditioner removes the excess shampoo from your hair and it also makes your hair manageable and shiny.
  2. You must avoid frequent use of hairdryer. However, if you use dryer on your hair, then ensure that it is not too close to your hair. Keep moving the dryer, so that the hair of one area does not get overheated.
  3. Your hair is more fragile when it is wet, so you must avoid brushing wet hairs. You should select comb having wide tooth. You can also use serum to detangle you hair. Comb your hair gently so that breakage can be avoided. You must remember to detangle your hair before shampooing; this will make combing easier with less breakage when it is wet.
  4. You must also avoid cosmetics like hair gel and spray, because the alcohol content in it can dry your hair even more and ultimately increase breakage.
  5. You must not tie your hair tightly, as it might pull and lead to hair loss.
  6. Avoid coloring hair frequently, as they tend to damage your hair. Color your hair not more than once in two months and also use shampoo and conditioner that is prescribed by your hairstylist.
You must also take proper diet for healthy hair. Your diet must include a lot of fruits and vegetables.
