Tips To Get Rid Of Split Ends

Split ends are a common problem faced by every woman. It usually happens when the natural oil present in your hair scalp fails to reach the end. The other reasons causing split ends are dry scalp, lack of nourishment and exposure to extreme temperature or chemicals. Brushing wet hair vigorously can also cause split ends.

Here are few tips that can be done easily at home to get rid of the split ends.
  • Avoid combing your hair vigorously. You must use wide toothed comb or brush so that the hair strands do not break and the protective cuticles present at the end of your hair, is not destroyed.
  • You must carry an umbrella or wear scarf to protect your hair from extreme temperature whenever you step out of your house.
  • Apply a mixture of castor oil, mustard oil and olive oil on the full length of your hair including a light massage on your scalp for about 30 minutes. Cover your head using hot towel and then wash it off with shampoo. This should be done at least once a week.
  • Papaya paste mixed along with yogurt is also an effective way of getting rid of split ends. You must ensure that the mixture is applied on every inch of your hair and left at least for 30 minutes before it is rinsed off with shampoo.
  • You can also massage your hair and scalp with avocado oil. This oil is very effective for treating split ends. You must leave the oiled hair for 30 minutes and then wash it off using gentle shampoo.
  • Honey mixed along with curd, is also a fantastic home remedy for split ends. Apply the mixture, leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and wash it off. The mixture will not only protect your hair cuticles, but will also leave your hair smooth and shiny.
Along with the home remedies you must also follow a healthy diet.  Additionally, you should make sure to get your hair cut or at least trim on regular basis to prevent your hair ends from splitting further.
