Few Things To Avoid In Pregnancy

Every pregnant woman wants to do things that are safe for her baby. This feeling comes in her as soon as she realizes that she is pregnant. Pregnant women can protect her baby by avoiding few activities that can complicate pregnancy and also cause harm to the baby. This is the time when expecting mothers must take extra care of themselves, physically and emotionally. Here are few things that pregnant women must avoid in order to be fit health wise.
  • Stress causes problems like constipation, insomnia and back pain in pregnant women. It can also lead to low birth weight. You must always avoid stress and tension when you are pregnant, so that it does not attack your health condition.
  • Consumption of alcohol and cigarettes are very harmful for your unborn baby because it reduces the flow of oxygen restricting the growth of your child. Tobacco may also lead to preterm labor and other complications. Along with alcohol and tobacco you must also avoid late night parties. Loud sound and second-hand smoke in parties can harm your child.
  • Always consult your physician before consuming any kind of medicine, because anything that you take passes through the placenta to your baby in the uterus.
  • Also strictly avoid changing the cat’s litter box when you are pregnant  as there is a high chance of getting infected with the disease called toxoplasmosis which can cause birth defects in your baby. In situations when you are compelled to change you must wear gloves and then wash your hands afterwards.
  • Caffeine is an addictive substance, so you must avoid coffee and tea during pregnancy.
  • Avoid pesticides and toxic fumes during pregnancy; especially during the first trimester, because this is the stage when your baby’s nervous system is growing rapidly. These toxic fumes can damage your baby’s developing brain and also his nervous system.
  • You must also reduce the consumption Vitamin A during pregnancy because too much of it can be toxic to your baby and many times it can also cause miscarriage.
Hope all these tips will help you enjoy your pregnancy and have a healthy baby.
