Women Infertility from Uterine Fibroids

In most of the cases of women infertility it has been seen that the underlying cause is the fibroids inside the uterus. These fibroids are actually a type of tumor, which are also known as myomas. This additional growth of tissue inside the uterus is pretty common for many women. For some women, these do not at all create any problem and they can enjoy a normal life for long. But sometimes these benign growths cause problems for the fetus or baby to grow up inside the womb. Even the mother can also feel discomfort or complications in her pregnancy due to these fibroids.

Myomas or fibroids are generally harmless, when they remain small and less in numbers. According to the medical sources, in very rare occasion these become carcinogenic. However, when the size of the fibroids increases rapidly, then it occupies the maximum space inside the uterus. In some cases, it can even disfigure the actual shape of the uterus. Now when the fetus gradually grows up it requires adequate space, which becomes impossible for the enlarged fibroids. This situation hampers in the normal growth of the baby and can lead to incomplete pregnancy.

Sometimes the fibroids grow in such a way that it obstructs the way through the fallopian tube. If this path is obstructed then the sperms will never get any chance to fertilize the egg and thus the women can never conceive. Usually it has been noticed that the fibroids growth are more common to the women who are comparatively aged and have some genetic background with this problem.

If you can get to know about the existence of fibroids inside your uterus before your pregnancy, then it becomes much easier to deal with. Your obstetrician can remove the fibroids through surgery, in case they are going to cause complication in your pregnancy. In certain cases, the surgery can be made without even making any incision to your abdomen. However, it becomes too critical, when you get to know about this after conceiving. The large sized fibroids causing hindrance in conceiving can also turn to be critical, as your obstetrician might suggest you to go for a hysterectomy.

Why do I snore?

We always discuss about snoring problems and how a snorer disturbs the other persons sleep. There is always a hot debate as why people snore? How snoring can be avoided? But how many of us actually try to know or understand how a snorer must be feeling amidst all then. He or she is the person behind all discussion, ridicule and fun. We hardly realize or try to feel what he might be going through. It is the human tendency to assume that the snorer faces no trouble, because he is the one who is sleeping comfortably through out the night. What does he face? It is the ordeal and trauma of the partner who is spending sleepless nights.

A snore is always made fun of and so is the snorer. People show open dislike to the snoring and are often reluctant to sleep with the snorer. How does it feel? Ask anyone who snores and has been through such experiences. This happens especially with the elderly who snore. Age, brings with it many kinds of ailments. Elderly people often remain dejected and depressed psychologically and God forbid if they snore, life becomes truly difficult for them. I have seen men become worried about their snoring habits. They know the kind of harm their snoring habits may be causing to their family. Many times they realize that their family life is getting ruined. Day after day, their spouse is sleeping in another room, separate and alone. Snorer starts feeling dejected and neglected. He starts feeling lonely.

The question that haunts the mind of the snorer is ‘Why do I snore?’ They keep looking for this one single answer. They start believing that their key to happiness is the answer to this question. Doctors, who treat such patients, will tell you about the desperation in the minds of these snorers. How they keep asking why they snore and what they can do about them? Is there any solution?

Why does a person snore actually?

If you visit a doctor and ask him this question, he will come up with several answers. A person snores due to several reasons. There are some reasons which are within his control and some reasons that are beyond their control. When a patient asks the doctor, the reason behind his snoring, the doctor explains in details and very patiently. He explains that this is curable and can be treated as well. Those factors which can be treated are worked upon- at least you can get a relief for some time. Some factors that have been attributed to snoring can be described as genetic, that is inherited features from parents and grandparents that cause snoring. You really can’t do anything about this. Other factors that might be responsible for snoring are obesity, too much alcoholic drinks, rich food, sleeping style and medications. In any of these cases, there is a solution. Exercises, change in lifestyle and motivation can be a solution to any of these problems. You just need to know what is to be done and how to be done.

New Moms – Take a Break

A break is perhaps the most desired thing for a new mom, but probably there is no way out at this moment. In the initial days of your baby, you will get very less time to sit and relax. Starting from the morning, you have to keep on working for changing diapers, feeding, putting into new set of dresses for several times, giving bath, putting him into sleep and once he wakes up you again start on the same set of works. Even at the night also, you are going get awake several times just to check out how he is doing in his crib? At times, you might think of to leave everything just to take rest for couple of minutes.

Rest and relaxation are very much required for every person and especially you require that more. You need to stay healthy and happy for the sake of your baby and rest of the family. If you are exhausted and tired throughout the day, how can you take care of your baby? So, you have to manage your cores of work to make some time out for your rest and relaxation.

The best time to get some rest and relax is when your baby is taking the nap. Even if you can manage to take an half an hour nap, you will feel much better and refreshed. If you have planned to work on washing or cooking during the time your baby sleeps, you should rethink on that. You do not need to attend your baby all the time. When your baby is full, he is not going to disturb you. You may leave him on his own and can work on something else or relax of your own. This way, he will also learn to pass his time being alone and unattended. Simple playing things like ball or soft toys might keep him busy for some time. However, you should keep an eye on your baby, while you are busy in some other work.

Make a plan to be out for dinner or to the shopping mall, at least once in a week. Spend quality time with your husband to refresh your romance. You can also go for an afternoon walk along with your baby on the carrier or stroller. You will find that your baby is also going to enjoy this joy ride pretty soon.

The Goodness Of Sunlight

Excessive exposure to sun can be damaging for your skin, but at the same time how can you ignore the fact that exposure to sun helps to generate Vitamin D in our body. Vitamin D is one of the essential nutrients which our body requires for various reasons. It helps our bones to grow stronger and to prevent diseases like osteoporosis. It can also ward off the risk of cancer or other infections, by increasing the immunity of our body. Vitamin D works for the brain to take care of the problems like dementia, depression etc. In addition to that, it also helps our heart and teeth to get stronger and healthier. However with the regular use of sunscreen lotion and by seriously avoiding the sun, we are not being able to generate sufficient vitamin D and thus causing a great harm to our body.

So, what is the way out for this problem? You cannot allow your skin to get burnt and accept all the damaging effect of sunlight, for generating the vitamin D. According to scientists, depending upon the geographic location you can sit under the sun for 10 to 15 minutes during the day time. Now the concept of geographic location is very important in this case. There are some places on earth which receives brighter sun in comparison to other places. If you think the sun is too bright and warm, that you cannot tolerate then you should not be out. To solve this confusion, the best thing would be to enjoy the sun at the early hours of the day. In fact you do not need to be enjoying the sun on a regular basis; just 2-3 days in a week will be enough to produce the required amount of vitamin D in your body.

To enjoy the sun in such a restricted way, you will not require sitting or lying on a beach. You can simply take a morning walk in your garden or some nearby park or at any open place. Just make sure that you get soaked into the sun. In case you are into your beachwear, your whole body will receive the sunlight and hence you may cut down the time under the sun to 7-8 minutes.

Is It Just Joint Pain or Arthritis?

Simple joint pain or arthritis?
Your joint pain might affect your mobility and flexibility, but in case you have arthritis, you are going to face long-term after effects in various ways. Before it is too late to treat your pains, you should clarify from your doctor, whether it is simple joint pain or arthritis.

If you have joint pain associated with swollen joints and the pain increases with your movement, then you should better book an appointment with your doctor. To many people arthritis is a problem felt only in the lower part of the body. But it is not true. You can feel this type of symptoms in your finger-joints, knee, shoulder-joints or any similar place in your body. The main thing to notice is that whether the pain is related to the movement of that particular body part. Usually for osteoarthritis, the pain increases the time when you are most active and goes away automatically when you are under rest. In case of rheumatoid arthritis, this type of discomfort might also be accompanied with high temperature or skin rashes.

It is also a misconception that arthritis affects only the people who are quite aged. Even younger people including teenagers and children, might be affected with this disease.

The most crucial point here is that whenever you feel that your joints are getting creaky, you should not neglect that. In case of arthritis, the early it is diagnosed, the more certain is the chance of recovery. If you ignore the warning symptoms, you are perhaps inviting more damage to your joints. To control these discomforts related to arthritis, you need to give enough time for proper treatments. As a treatment, you might have to shift into a new lifestyle along with regular physical therapy and medications.

Before you visit to your doctor’s place, you might do a thorough study on the type of your pain. How the pain starts and how it reduces? How do you feel during the discomfort or what are the problematic areas? And so on. All these information will help your doctor to diagnose your health condition and to start the right kind of treatment.

Are You Too Tired?

Excessive tiredness can affect your health.
This is perhaps the most common symptoms of every city-living person, who are always running after time. These people are mostly down with tremendous responsibilities, for which they do not get adequate time for sleeping or resting their body. But according to the medical science every adult human being should have at least 8 hours sleep in a day. If it is not possible, then the person is bound to get tired or exhausted during the day time in his work. This excessive amount of fatigue makes them tired physically and mentally, both ways. As a result you get cranky and irritating mood swings and physical discomforts including headache, weakness, dizziness etc.

  • The best way to get you out of this situation is obviously to have sufficient amount of sleep. Whatever be your working schedule, try to organize them properly so that you can enjoy a good night sleep. For this, you may even have to cut down some extra responsibilities. In fact, to take care of your responsibilities, you must be physically and mentally fit.

  • You should also try to organize your work schedule during the daytime. No matter, how much busy you are, try to keep at least half an hour time to relax. If your brain is jammed up with many things, it will not be able to work properly. So, take regular breaks in your work to shift your concentration into something light. This way your brain will get some rest and you can concentrate on your next work, much better.

  • Another important thing to remember in this situation is that you have to accept your limitations. First of all, you should know for how long you can continue to work in a day. If your working hours are already filled up, then you should not accept any new or additional work or duty. Try to complete your existing work successfully with a fresh mind and body.

  • When you come back to home after a hectic day, try to relax yourself. Take a refreshing shower, enjoy your favourite music or TV show, have dinner with your family members or go for a walk after dinner to feel good and get a good night sleep.

Finally, do not forget to go for the annual visits to your doctor’s place to know that you are doing absolutely alright.
