Tips For New Parents- How to Handle A Newborn

Most of the new parents get nervous when they think of handling their new born baby, as they do not have any prior experience. They keep the urge of cuddling the baby inside them and wait till she grows a little bigger in size, so that it is easy to handle. However, there is nothing to be worried about, if you are little careful, then nothing will happen to your little one and she will also feel secured in your arms. Moreover, your cuddle, not only will make her feel safe, but it will also strengthen the bond between you and your baby. Here are some tips that you must remember before you handle you newborn baby.

·         The first and the most important thing that you should remember before touching your newborn is to wash your hands thoroughly. You may use hand sanitizer or disinfectant to wash your hands.  By washing hand properly you can avoid infections that she is susceptible to, as she is yet to develop her immunity system.
·         Your newborns head and neck is very weak, so while taking her out of the cot, remember to place your hands below her neck and head. This will provide her necessary support. You must also ensure to put her back safely in her cot following the same technique of holding.
·         If you are planning to take your baby out, then you must use a sturdy baby carrier or a stroller. Better not carry your baby into your lap while walking because you might miss a step resulting in some serious accident. Car seat provides total safety to your baby while you travel with her in your car.
·         Whatever you do with your baby, do it gently and softly because now she is very small and tender and will not be able to tolerate anything that is hard or rough. Activities like shaking, throwing and jerking must be strictly avoided as these might cause some serious damage to your newborns and sometimes even death.
Hope the above tips will help you spend golden moments with your baby!
